Why This Designer Really Liked This Photo

PRO member @creative-click-photography stole the prize for the 1 Peter 3:15 VersePic Opportunity with her fantastic submission featuring a girl reading her Bible!

Here’s her original submission and the finished VersePic:

And here are the VersePic Director’s comments about why he liked it so much:

This photo was a FANTASTIC option for a graphic designer because of the “blank slate” in the photo’s middle, the Bible!

This particular shot (she submitted several others at different angles) is taken at just the right angle so that the Bible almost forms a bit of a diamond shape that perfectly complements text with a frame.

The fact that it was nicely uniform in color didn’t hurt either! Everything goes together well. There weren’t any overly saturated or unrealistic colors in the image, and even if there were any, since I had a RAW image I could have easily fixed it up in Lightroom.

I also liked how Caitlin edited her image. I did edit the image myself in Lightroom to get a more balanced color over all, but I found that I liked the bright white of the paper in Caitlin’s shot better than the balanced readable pages in mine. I decided I would leave all of her editing intact and kept out of even making any small tweaks. (Just to mention it here, since Caitlin submitted a RAW file, all the changes were left intact and readable by Lightroom, letting me see the “true” original file along with all of her editing.)

This week’s VersePic opportunity is centered around Acts 24:25, “And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.”

Have any pictures that portray the idea of “seasons”, the passage of time, or possibly somehow “greek, Latin, or Roman”? Those are just ideas. If you think you have a photo that would fit this verse better as you meditate on it, feel free to share them on the Acts 24:25 VersePic Opportunity before midnight Friday, May 26!
