Where We Went for Epic Pictures During CAPTURE Virginia

This weekend was the CAPTURE Virginia creation photography workshop! Four photographers came. The goal was to exercise photography techniques in the classroom of creation. As we traveled from place to place, we put into practice the things we wanted to get better at, like how to comfortably shoot in full Manual, how to compose better shots, and how to use long exposures for better pictures.

The first evening we spent on the shores of Abbott Lake by the Peaks of Otter Lodge.

The next morning, we headed off to see the sunrise at Smith Mountain Lake Community Park.

That afternoon, we found some good subjects to photograph with long exposures at Falling Water Cascades along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

For sunset, we hiked to the peak of Sharp Top.
